One SIM per site: simple at first, harder at scale
For one installation, managing a SIM card and a mobile plan is rarely a problem. With 10, 20 or 50 customer sites, someone must track lines, consumption, renewals, service suspensions and credentials for different operator portals. Connectivity becomes an administrative task of its own.
Why pay twelve months for a few hours of maintenance?
Remote maintenance is often occasional. Some sites may need only a few hours of remote access per year while a conventional mobile subscription continues to be billed every month. Much of the cost therefore goes toward keeping the connection available rather than actually using it.
The data-plan headache
A plan that is too small can become a problem during an intervention. A plan that is too large means paying every month for data that may never be used. Across dozens of sites, this trade-off becomes expensive and difficult to manage.
The hidden cost is also administrative
The operator invoice is only part of the problem. Each SIM must be associated with the right customer, operator portal credentials maintained, consumption monitored, renewals checked and rarely used lines verified so they still work when an intervention is finally required.
With RescueLAN, the SIM is part of the product
Mobile connectivity is integrated into RescueLAN. There is no need to subscribe to and administer a separate mobile line for every device. Data Credits are consumed when RescueLAN is actually used for an intervention.
Pay for usage, not availability
The model is deliberately different from a conventional monthly subscription: keeping a RescueLAN ready on a site does not create a monthly RescueLAN fee simply because the device is there. Mobile-data cost is more closely aligned with actual usage.
One fleet, one dashboard
RescueLAN devices, sites and groups, users, sessions, activity history and remaining Data Credits are brought together in RescueLAN Cloud. For an integrator maintaining many customers, this avoids spreading fleet management across equipment tools, operator accounts and separate systems.
When does the advantage become significant?
The larger the number of sites and the more irregular the interventions, the more relevant this approach becomes. For integrators, machine builders and maintenance companies, simplifying fleet management can matter as much as reducing recurring fees.
