RescueLAN

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about RescueLAN, in one place.

Does RescueLAN work independently of the site’s Internet connection?

Yes. RescueLAN has its own built-in 4G/LTE connectivity via a SIM card and works independently of the customer’s Internet connection. Remote access remains available even if the primary Internet connection goes down.

Ideal for isolated or sensitive sites where Internet access is unavailable or not permitted.

What equipment can I access with RescueLAN?

You can access IP devices on the local network, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, BMS and HVAC systems, photovoltaic installations, Ethernet devices, cameras, and more.

Does RescueLAN require a subscription?

No. RescueLAN works without a subscription. Your RescueLAN is delivered ready to use, with included data for remote connections. You can top up your Data Credits whenever needed.

Do I need to modify the customer’s network or firewall?

No. No ports need to be opened and no VPN needs to be configured on the customer’s network.

Can I use my usual software remotely?

Yes. RescueLAN works with your usual software and protocols, including CODESYS, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, RDP, VNC, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, and more.

Do I need to provide or manage a SIM card?

No. A SIM card is included with RescueLAN. There is no SIM or mobile plan for you to manage; connectivity is included.

Can I manage several RescueLAN units from the same account?

Yes. RescueLAN Cloud lets you monitor and manage all your sites from one account: equipment status, inventories, connections, and more.

How long are the included Data Credits valid?

The included Data Credits are valid for 4 years. If you use RescueLAN occasionally and still have credits remaining at the end of this period, a top-up is required to extend the service. If your Data Credits run out before the 4 years are up, you can top them up at any time.

In which countries can I use RescueLAN?

The RescueLAN offer is intended for installations in the following 32 countries:

European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Other European countries: Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
